TRAINING & SUPPORT
At Double Click Design & print, we combine providing professional graphic design and print services to a wide range of businesses, with supporting mental health by providing the opportunity for trainees to develop new skills in a nurturing environment.
Our trainees are all at varying levels of learning, with office-based learning and online training courses proving effective in developing their skills. A personalised development plan is created for each trainee, and together we decide what courses and training will be most suitable for them.
If a trainee would like to learn office-based skills, we offer training in a variety of areas within a commercial studio environment, including handling cash, safe use of equipment (such a booklet maker, folding machine, guillotine, etc.), table work (such as cutting, creasing, trimming, etc.), housekeeping/Health & Safety, and vehicle administration.
Trainees learn and practice at their own pace from online, in-depth video training courses. Courses include Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Dreamweaver, WordPress and Microsoft Excel.

We offer graphic design and print services to a variety of clients, from logo design to websites, and everything in between.
HOW DID WE GET HERE?
The Double Click we are today has its roots in a 1993 research project to ‘create a realistic work opportunity for people suffering with, or recovering from, mental health problems’. Out this Capability Cards was formed (later ‘Capabilities’) and opened in a permanent workspace and shop in Buckley in September 1994.
Initially, we focused on greetings cards, mainly showing countryside scenes photographed by Capabilities members and marketed to local outlets. This was in the pre-digital era, and things are very different now! Fast forward to 2011, and Capabilities had transformed into Double Click Design & Print CIC, based in an open-plan studio in Shotton.
January 2016 saw Double Click become a full member of Social Firms Wales offering an extensive range of professional graphic design and high quality products while still holding fast to the ethos of providing support, training and real work experience to our trainees.
